The Daily Mail reports that Lille have indeed offered attacking midfielder Salomon Kalou to Arsenal in an attempt to slash their wage bill. It is understood that Michel Seydoux does not feel keeping Kalou is an economically viable situation.
However, Lille may have difficulty in offloading him in the next 4 days. The player already rejected approaches from clubs in Turkey and failed to come to an agreement with West Brom and West Ham after intense negotiations.
Salomon Kalou rejected the chance to sign for West Ham United because they failed to guarantee that he would be picked to play behind the striker which is his position of choice.
West Brom failed to agree wages with Kalou.
Whether or not Arsenal will be tempted to instigate negotiations with Lille for Kalou is another matter entirely.
Overall, Salomon Kalou wants to stay at Lille after an excellent second half of the 2012-2013 season. Lille want him gone to cut the wage bill.
