Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi expected to stay; Menez on the way out

Several of PSG’s squad players’ futures have been questioned in the past weeks as we near the start of the January window but it appears that there will be less movement than was first thought.

Javier Pastore’s agent has reiterated his clients comments from earlier this year to TMW today that the Argentinian, who has started just twice for PSG this season, will remain and fight for his place.

This announcement comes after Pastore was linked with Inter Milan, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that PSG had offered the player to them but Internazionale were not interested. AS Roma have also been linked with the former Palermo man, but Get French Football News understands that Rudi Garcia, the club’s manager is not keen on the player either.

The player that Inter Milan are actively pursuing is winger Ezequiel Lavezzi. We confirmed last week that PSG and Inter representatives had met for discussions, but that PSG will make sure to hold onto this player in January, with Laurent Blanc seeing Lavezzi as an important member of the squad.

Meanwhile, a winger who is on his way out is Jeremy Menez. The player wishes to play for France in the World Cup in June next year and has decided to quit the capital in search of game time. The player will only cost interested parties between €3.5m and €4m because his contract expires at the end of the season. Juventus are said to be leading the way in this chase but are playing hard ball with PSG by preparing to offer just €2m in the coming days. AS Monaco were linked with the Menez in the summer but PSG are understood to want to avoid selling to fellow Ligue 1 title challengers.
