Alexandre Lacazette confirmed in today’s Les Bleus press conference that he would be signing a two year contract extension with Lyon.
He had the following to say:
On the World Cup: “I watched the World Cup like all the Les Bleus supporters with my friends. I was proud of them.”
On Lyon: “I will extend my contract when I get back to Lyon. It is important for me to prove myself at the club where I became a professional. Lyon remains a big French and European football club. We are not obliged to play abroad to play for France upfront.”
On Ligue 1: “Ligue 1 has not lost quality despite several departures. The departures from Monaco is bad for the league’s image but it is only 2 or 3 players.”
On training with Les Bleus again: “It was nice. It feels like they had a great adventure in Brazil. I hope to stay with them now. I am very motivated, even if it is a friendly. It is up to me to show I deserve to be on this list and to continue to be on it for the next two years.”
On winning this year’s Ligue 1 Golden Boot: “Ibra’s rhythm will be difficult to follow because he is surrounded by great players.”
