Get French Football News has learnt that Premier League giants Arsenal have made enquiries regarding the possibility of signing AS Nancy goalkeeper Paul Nardi this summer, as they look to bring in a player in that position, being set to lose both Emiliano Viviano and Lukasz Fabianski at the end of the season.
The 19 year old goalkeeper has impressed across the board this season, with a rejuvenated AS Nancy side in with a chance of grabbing that third promotion spot to Ligue 1 with just a few games to go.
The club signed highly-rated Quentin Beunardeau (ex-Le Mans; has trialled with Bayern Munich) in January when AS Monaco and St Étienne came knocking at the door for Nardi (with the latter side actually making an offer for an undisclosed sum for the player, which was turned down). As a result of this, Nancy are in a position to accept an offer that comes their way for their young youth product who, out of the current squad, is the only goalkeeper to have played in the league this season for ASNL.
Everton are also aware of the player and have watched him perform on several occasions this season but have yet to approach with anything concrete.
There is of course the possibility that both St Étienne and AS Monaco return in the summer for the player, who, if you had told this time last year that Arsenal would be interested in signing him, would have simply laughed you off, having never played for the club in the first team before until this campaign.
