According to our colleagues at Sud-Ouest, Rennes will complete four transfer deals today to really get their window up and running.
The first is 25 year old Austrian attacker Philipp Hosiner, who scored 30 goals in his last 35 matches in the league for Austria Wien last season. The player will join on a three year deal.
Benjamin André is also expected to sign the dotted line today. The player had been in advanced negotiations with SC Bastia, but Rennes made an offer early last week which will see the player join on a four year contract after his deal expired with Ajaccio recently. Get French Football News has been informed that SC Bastia have given up on this target and that the Rennes deal is virtually complete.
Central defender Mexer, who AS Monaco had approached in recent weeks, will also join Rennes today from Nacional Madeira in Portugal. The player is highly rated and has been chased by numerous European sides. The transfer fee is believed to be around €2m and the player will sign a three year deal.
Rennes have also finally completed the transfer of young central defender Gjoko Zajkov from Macedonian side FK Rabotnički. Sud-Ouest believe that the 19 year old was wanted by Arsenal, Benfica and Porto, but he will sign a four year contract with Rennes.
