Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille have contacted Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy about a possible January transfer, according to L’Équipe.
The former Newcastle man is seeking the exit door from the Gunners, confirming as much in a recent interview.
For the moment, Marseille have not followed up their recent interest. Fiorentina and Espanyol have had the player on their radar for consecutive transfer windows, but the most likely situation for Debuchy at the time of writing appears to be a 6 month loan deal this month.
The problem? Barring a couple of Turkish outfits, who have been rebuffed by Debuchy, not a single club has positioned themselves in a concrete way yet. However, there is a long way to go in this January window. Debuchy is looking for the exit door.
