Dijon have confirmed the signing of Senou Coulibaly on a free transfer, their second defensive recruit in quick succession following the transfer of Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd.
The 23-year-old had previously played for French fourth tier side FC Mantes but is understood to have convinced the Dijon coaching staff to sign him following an impressive campaign.
Club scout Loic Chalier described the attributes of Coulibaly as being key to their incentive in completing the signing: “Despite his size, he is a very fast defender who is a hard man on the field and very good off it…Some players in the squad have already given very good feedback on Senou. They appreciated his profile and see a lot of potential”.
Coulibaly’s new club enjoyed the relative stability of an 11th-placec finish in Ligue 1 last season.
