According to Le 10 Sport and a source close to L’Equipe, St Etienne have made their first steps towards a replacement for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as English 29 year old Carlton Cole is supposedly in St-Etienne completing a move.
These reports certainly do seem strange. The Ex-Chelsea and West Ham forward is a free agent after leaving the later this summer and hardly seems the ideal replacement for the fast and skilful Gabonese international who has just left for Borussia Dortmund. Having said that, Cole has 9 England caps to his name and although he has not reached the potential that was suggested of him, a move to the French league could get him back on track.
