FT: Valenciennes 1-3 Lille. LOSC showed a touch of class tonight after initially going behind through Melikson. Pedretti hit a wonderful strike as LOSC make it 5 wins on the spin. VAFC were simply not clinical enough when they dominated.

FT: ESTAC 4-2 Reims: Really do feel for Reims who are probably the weakest side in the league at the moment. A very open game, played with the right spirit but young Coretin Jean up front for Troyes was my man of the whole night in all games. Absolutely stunning.

FT: Ajaccio 1-0 Lorient: Possibly Lorient’s worst performance of the campaign? Ajaccio were all over them and they have Audard to thank for only losing by the one goal. Aliadiere was a big miss up front.

FT: Brest 0-1 Toulouse: TFC sneak a win after putting in the minimum performance required to take all 3 points tonight. Gueye did liven things up for the hosts, but Toulouse’s defence prevailed.

FT: Evian 5-1 Sochaux: Possibly their biggest ever win in Ligue 1? Some statistician needs to check that one. Anyway, they really turned it on in the 2nd half after as fairly even 1st. Tough for Sochaux who were humiliated. Cannot let this affect them in the relegation battle to come.

20.49: Goals galore this evening, but I cannot see anymore going in as we reach additional time now.

20.47: GOAL TROYES: Yattara has probably made sure that ESTAC take home all 3 points tonight. A bit of luck he got there, but they all count. 4-2.

20.45: GOAL LILLE: A failed clearance by captain Ducourtioux lands at the feet of Pedretti who loops it over the keeper. 1-3. Game over.

20.44: Final minutes around the grounds. Really hotting up at Brest as they search for an equaliser against Toulouse. Completely end to end now.

20.43: Zubar’s goal has provoked no reaction from Lorient and Monnet-Paquet scrambles a clearance off the line away. Really impressed by Emon’s Ajaccio tonight.

20.41: Massive chance for Danic to level things up against Lille after Dossevi’s ball across the 6-yard area.

20.39: Brest have looked brighter since the introduction of Gueye, but Toulouse are happy to sit back making it difficult for the home side to care out opportunities.

20.38: GOAL LILLE: Another corner and another Lille goal, this time put expertly away by substitute De Melo. They lead Valenciennes 2-1 on the night.

20.36: GOAL REIMS: Maybe I wrote them off a little too early as Fortes finds space down the left hand side to open up his body and slot past the helpless Thuram-Ulien. 3-2. ESTAC holding on.

20:34: GOAL EVIAN: Khilfa is humiliating Sochaux now as another long ball over the top evades the Sochaux defence. Slotted away. 5-1.

20.33: GOAL AJACCIO: I said it was coming and sure it did. Lorient have been punished for their insistence to sit back by former Wolves man Ronald Zubar. 1-0

20.31: GOAL EVIAN: Sochaux have combusted here, Barbosa slots home after the away side’s defence fail to deal with a free kick. 4-1.

20.30: Sammaritano has been all over Lorient in this second half like a bad rash. Chance after chance for him, but Audard stands firm. If there is a winner here, it would certainly be unfair if it is Lorient based on the performance. Ajaccio surging.

20.28: GOAL EVIAN: Evian hit Sochaux on the counter and the lively Berigaud has finished them off here as he cooly slots past scrambling Pouplin. Game. Set. Match. 3-1.

20:26: GOAL ESTAC: No less than the youngster Jean deserves he has not only been the best player on that pitch, but the best player on all 5 pitches that I’ve been watching tonight. AN ESTAC counter-attack is successful as the youngster fires home from the right and finishes Reims off. 3-1.

20.21: GOAL REIMS: Lovely strike from Nicolas De Preville of Reims who are very much going all out being 2 behind ESTAC. A young talent Ligue 1 should certainly watch out for after his arrival from Istres in January. Now 2-1 ESTAC.

20.20: GOAL EVIAN: The man who won the penalty takes it and Evian lead as he allows Pouplin to dive first before tucking it away. 2-1.

20.19: PENALTY TO EVIAN: Definite pen as Khilfa is clearly brought down by Sauget. Silly from the Sochaux man.

20.17: Brest have finally decided to bring on Everton loanee Magaye Gueye for Ayite. Sighs of relief ring around the ground. Let’s see what the young man can do. Toulouse very much in control still.

20.15: Down in Corsica, Lorient have started this 2nd half with a bit more intent and bite. Monnet-Paquet looking the most lively for the away side. Mutu seems to be in some discomfort, still playing for now.

20.13: GOAL TROYES: ESTAC have doubled their lead over poor Reims through Faussurier. Poor defensively as nobody picked him up. Vital 3 points for ESTAC probably.

20.11: GOAL LILLE: Simple play from the corner as Rodelin is unmarked after Payet whipped it in. Easy as they come. 1-1 vs Valenciennes.

20.10: GOAL SOCHAUX: Bakambu has the equaliser, after very unselfish play from Sio who turned his defender after receiving a long ball before rolling it into Bakambu who had an empty net. 1-1. Evian must respond.

20.08: Reims incidentally also made a half time change. Tacalfred came on for Fofana. The sub immediately linked up well with Courtet, but the shot was not on target. ESTAC holding firm.

20.06: In an attempt to get a free kick, Kalou is adjudged to have dived and throws a strop. Very even opening of the 2nd half between Valenciennes and Lille.

20.04: Early chance for Evian and its that Berigaud again who’s head is this time saved by Pouplin. Good delivery from Ehret.

20.03: Brest have made a half time substitution, bring Traore on to replace Kantari. Certainly attacking minded.

20.00: We are about to get back up and running for the 2nd halves around the grounds.

HT: Evian 1-0 Sochaux: The home side have a fortunate lead in a game which has been entertaining. Sio, Sochaux’s loan signing has seriously impressed and you feel that the away side will need him to inspire them if they are to completely turn this tie around.

HT: Ajaccio 0-0 Lorient: The Corsicans a little surprisingly have had the chances and Lorient really look a bit lacklustre tonight. Mutu needs to finish off one of these chances though. Lorient are the most dangerous counter-attacking team in the league.

HT: Troyes 1-0 Reims: Nice to see ESTAC encouraged to play good football and their maestro Jean up front has become the 3rd player who is under the age of 18 to score in Ligue 1 this season. Both sides need a win. 2nd half could be good.

HT: Valenciennes 1-0 Lille: The home side soaked up the Lille pressure lead by Payet in the opening half an hour and then transformed the tie with Melikson’s first goal for the club. They should be two up after a goal was incorrectly chalked off which clearly crossed the line.

HT: Brest 0-1 Toulouse: A game that seriously lacked attacking inspiration for the most part of the 1st half has been gifted with a piece of genius from a seriously talented midfielder in young Rabiot. Brest are missing Gueye up front to provide them with attacking chances.

19.44: GOAL TOULOUSE: PSG loanee Rabiot takes his chance from far out left and drills home for his first goal in Toulouse colours. As I was saying, the game was livening up. Can’t see Brest finding a result here. 0-1.

19.44: GOAL EVIAN: Undeservedly, the home side lead as Barbosa’s freekick shaves the wall, diverting the ball over the head of Sochaux goalie Pouplin. 1-0.

19.43: Livening up in Brest. Tabanou and Capoue combining well, but the move just does not come of for Toulouse.

19.40: Valenciennes should have doubled their lead as Dossevi’s pitiful attempt at poking the ball over the keeper after the initial ball from Melikson is sliced and wide. Lille all of suddent a bit shaky.

19.39: Brest vs Toulouse proving to be the bore game of the night so far. Casanova deciding to play without Ben Yedder, but there is no creativity there. Ben Basat looks nervy against his former team.

19.37: A chance immediately down the other end as Berigaud’s volley is a whisker away.  The Sochaux keeper Pouplin was certainly beaten there.

19.36: Chance for Sochaux at Evian. Sio plays a stylish little ball over the top for Bakambu to head, but the big man gets it all wrong and into the palms of Laquait it falls.

19.34: In Corsica it is Ajaccio who look more likely to score as winger Belghazouani has an effort well saved by Audard. Lorient looking a bit flat tonight.

19.33: Payet has a freekick in a promising position for Lille, but it falls into the arms of Penneteau. Frustrating for Lille who were on top before Melikson’s goal.

19.29: A really poor quality match being played in Troyes at the moment, from the away side in particular. Not a single chance for Reims, Jean is still threatening at every moment.

19.28: Incidentally that was Melikson’s first goal for Valenciennes. Isimat-Mirin’s through ball was exquisite.

19.26: Chance in Corsica for Ajaccio as Mutu has his first effort on the Lorient goal which is unfortunately for him a tame one into the palms of Audard.

19.23: GOAL VALENCIENNES: Melikson is receives a lovely through ball and finishes with a side foot shot past Elana. 1-0

19.22: Controversy at Valenciennes! Carlos has definitely scored here as the ball goes over the line, but the referee fails to give it! Against the run of play admittedly but the home side should be 1 up.

19.21: First real chance at Evian as Sochaux’s Roudet jinks past a few defenders before firing low from a tricky angle. A half-chance at best probably.

19.17: Wondering what is going on in Evian? Nothing to be honest. Neither side can really keep hold of possession, but the loanee Sio looks bright for the away side.

19.15: ESTAC’s goalscorer Jean has another shooting chance but he pulls this one slightly. Reims are a nightmare at the back. Mandi is continuously screaming at them all.

19.14: At Valenciennes, Lille are running the game and good defending from Isimat-Mirin stops the patrolling Payet. A player who has really come into his own in 2013 I must add.

19.11: At Brest, it is the away side who have started better. Toulouse’s Tabanou has a powerful header stopped in its tracks. Toulouse holding onto the ball. Brest are unable to get out of their own half at this moment in time.

19.08: Important goal that for ESTAC, they really need to start stringing some wins together at the business end of the season we are currently entering.

19.07: GOAL TROYES: ESTAC take the lead as Reims keeper Agassa is taken by surprise by young Jean’s impressive strike. 1-0.

19.06: Toulouse XI to face Brest: Ahamada, MBengue, Yago, Abdennour, Ninkov, Rabiot, Didot, Tabanou, Regattin, Capoue, Ben Basat.

19.05: ESTAC XI to face Reims: Thuram-Ulien, Colin, Jarjat, Brechet, Faussurier, Darbion, Nivet, NGoyi, Othon, Marcos, Jean.

19.03: Sochaux XI to face Evian: Pouplin, Corchia, Kante, Peybernes, Nogueira, Sauget, Lopy, Boudebouz, Roudet, Bakambu, Sio.

19.03: Evian XI to face Sochaux: Laquait, Betao, Cambon, Ehret, Kone, Barbosa, Wass, Ninkovic, Sorlin, Berigaud, Khlifa.

18.58: Lorient XI to face Ajaccio: Audard, Kone, Ecuele Manga, Bourillion, Le Lan, Lautoa, Gassama, Jouffre, Barthelme, Querica, Monnet-Paquet.
