Mathieu Valbuena told BFM TV about his plans for the second half of the season and his response would have perhaps worried Marseille fans, saying that he ‘has always wanted to try to play abroad.’
Valbuena, part of the Marseille team that currently find themselves 6th in Ligue 1 and 15 points off the pace set by the leaders PSG had the following to say:
‘My aim is to have a great second half of the season in terms of a club and then to excel in the World Cup. I have been here, at Marseille, for eight years now.’
‘I have never denied my want to try and play abroad. We shall see what happens.’
Our friends at Mercato 365 believe that OM have set the price for any offers for Mathieu Valbuena at €12m, with Atletico Madrid being particularly interested. A move that would surprise most, considering the Spanish outfit have announced they do not plan on bring anyone else in during the January window.
