Auxerre President says Arsene Wenger ‘not interested’ in Paul Georges Ntep

Auxerre President Guy Cortet told the local newspaper L’Yonne that he has taken the initiative to speak with Arsenal regarding their supposed interest in his attacking midfield starlet Paul Georges Ntep and has spoken to Arsene Wenger about whether or not the Premier League leaders will make a move.

Cortet was quoted in the local paper saying as follows:

‘Instead of waiting around listening to all these Arsenal rumours and seeing if they would make an offer, I took charge and contacted Arsene Wenger. He assured me that Ntep does not interest him at the moment.’

The President suggests that Arsenal will therefore not be making a move for the player this transfer window, but with these situations it is best to err on the side of caution. We await to see what happens to Ntep in the coming days.
