Newcastle’s Frenchman Hatem Ben Arfa has arranged to meet Newcastle fans around the corner from St James’ Park on the same day that the club has scheduled an open day of the stadium.
The player than changed his mind about the rendezvous which was supposed to occur tonight.
It is likely to be the latest in a series of misgivings between Ben Arfa and the club since manager Alan Pardew banished the winger to the reserves. Pardew criticised Ben Arfa’s professionalism, and raised concerns about his weight following his return to the club for pre-season.
