Get French Football News understands that Lyon have indicated their interest in signing Montpellier’s defensive midfielder Benjamin Stambouli, who will be leaving the former Ligue 1 Champions this summer, the club’s President, Louis Nicollin, has confirmed.
Lyon are already planning to combat a summer transfer window in which they could be losing several key players, notably Maxime Gonalons. Benjamin Stambouli seems to be an ideal replacement, although it remains to be seen whether or not Les Gones will instead favour Jordan Ferri to take up this position long-term.
Meanwhile, Marseille’s interim manager José Anigo today admitted in a press conference that Benjamin Stambouli does interest Marseille, although he may be too expensive for L’OM to bite.
