Bernard Casoni in talks to become Valenciennes boss

According to our colleagues at La Voix du NordBernard Casoni has been in discussions with Ligue 2 side Valenciennes to take over as manager from the retired Ariel Jacobs.

The 52 year old has prior Ligue 1 experience, having managed Evian for two years between 2009 and 2011. The last managerial post that Casoni occupied was at Auxerre, where he as sacked for a lack of positive on-pitch results. 

Valenciennes have approached the following managers without success thus far: Laurent Guyot, Frédéric Hantz, Didier Six, Philippe Burle and Francis Gillot.
