Canal + and BeIN unhappy with Vine sharing

Leading sport networks Canal + and BeIN Sports have been quoted on L’Equipe’s website as branding the sharing of goals via Vine from pictures broadcast exclusively on their channels as a form of “piracy”.

They have demanded that the French FA (LFP) sends an official letter of complaint to Vine to ensure that they respect laws, something that the football body has agreed to do.

It is a rather hypocritical issue that French football is facing, because official club Twitter accounts are using Vine more and more often. The debate will go on, but with sites such as L’Equipe and Foot Mercato using Vines on their websites to show website users goals from supposedly “illegally”, it will take a lot of groundwork from the TV networks to stamp this sort of Vine out completely.
