Christophe Jallet gave a press conference and Les Bleus’ training base at Clairefontaine yesterday. Here is what he had to say:
On his return to the national team squad: ‘My inclusion proves that I made the right decision in leaving PSG. I’m getting more playing time now and I was right [to move].’
‘I haven’t played for the national team for some time now. It’s been tough but something has certainly changed.’
On his chances of playing in Euro 2016: ‘I’m going to do everything I can. It will be tough but there’s always a chance.’
On facing Cristiano Ronaldo: ’Ronaldo? You can’t be indecisive for a second when you’re up against him. It’s going to be a huge challenge for our entire defence.’
On his season so far with Lyon: ‘I’ve had a pretty good start to the season with Lyon… Apart from in the Europa League.’
On PSG and their faltering start to the campaign: ‘I’m not worried for them, they’re a huge team. They’ll click into gear eventually.’
‘PSG helped me grow on both a sporting and a personal level.’
On Andre-Pierre Gignac’s inclusion: ‘We were together at Lorient and I know him well. I’m very happy for him.’
On Paul Pogba: ‘Both him and [Raphael] Varane have impressed me with the way their careers have started.’
