Following the hugely surprising revelation that Helena Costa will not take over the managerial duties of Clermont next season, the Club President, Claude Michy, had the following to say in a statement about the issue:
‘Helena Costa has decided not to meet her commitments with respect to Clermont Foot 63. Helena Costa therefore will not assume the position of manager of the club for the coming season.’
‘This decision was sudden and surprising. I sincerely regret this situation. I thank all those who have supported me and I am extremely grateful to them.’
‘Club operations will continue to prepare for the new season. A press conference in the presence of Helena Costa will be given Tuesday morning at 9:30 am at Gabriel Montpied stadium.’
