According to quotes reported in the Newcastle Chronicle, Hatem Ben Arfa’s agent has denied that the player is close to a move to Qatar.
Get French Football News was informed earlier today that Hatem Ben Arfa was in talks to join Lekhwiya and that the Qatari side had contacted Newcastle. The player was said to be considering a move to the club, but his agent denies this.
Michel Ouazine said: “This is false. He remains on a one-year contract at Newcastle and Hatem has the intention to continue to play in Europe.”
The fact that Hatem Ben Arfa wishes to either ameliorate his situation or quit Newcastle does not change however.
