Clermont Foot held a press conference today to unveil Helena Costa as their new manager. Costa, who has become the first ever female Ligue 2 manager in the history of the professional French football game.
She had the following to say upon the officialisation of her appointment:
“My objective is to win for Clermont, that is my ambition. I am motivated by this project like the staff and the players. The impact of my appointment has been enormous but I hope that people will judge me as if I am a normal individual and judge my work as if I was a man.”
“It is with joy that I take this job. Like men, if I don’t get the right results, I will be fired like any other manager. That is normal.”
