Earlier this morning, Helena Costa and Clermont President Claude Michy gave a press conference about her decision not to take over the managerial duties in the coming season.
Helena Costa had the following to say: ‘I honoured my contract, but it was my decision (to leave).’ When pressed on the issue, she only responded with the statement ‘The president (Claude Michy) knows.’ She also said that it was ‘a personal decision.’
After Helena Costa’s press conference, Claude Michy gave his own comments on the matter. He was slightly more willing to talk on the matter, saying that there was ‘no rational explanation’ for the decision, and that ‘football is full of surprises.’ He questioned the reasons of her departure, saying ‘Was it the task that scared her? I do not know.’ Lastly, he added a humorous touch to the events, joking that he was ‘not the only man to be left by a woman.’
Whilst the details of the situation have not been made official, Get French Football News exclusively reported yesterday the reasons thought to be behind her departure.
