Loic Remy fails Liverpool medical

The Times and Sky Sports broke the story this afternoon that French international and forward player Loic Remy’s move to Liverpool has collapsed after the player failed to pass a medical.

The current QPR striker has had a recurring heart problem since his time with OGC Nice, and while Liverpool refused to give a reason for the breakdown in the move, many have since speculated that the club’s doctor Zaf Iqbal was worried about the risk to Loic Remy’s health, especially as the Frenchman enters the latter stages of his career.

The player retains a €10m buyout clause for clubs applicable to play in Europe.
