With a price tag of just €7m hanging over his head, Mathieu Valbuena is currently one of the hottest properties on the European market.
The Sporting Director of Sevilla announced yesterday that the club is pulling out of negotiations with Valbuena’s agent because the salary demands are too high. Valencia are also in ongoing discussions with both Marseille and the player about a possible move. Ideally, Valbuena would like to join a side with continental football to offer for next season, but he also has a preference for La Liga and this is what gives Valencia hope in the coming days.
According to Italian reports, Marseille President Vincent Labrune has turned down a €6m offer from AS Roma for the player and that negotiations continue with the Serie A side. Fiorentina and AC Milan have both made contact in recent weeks.
Valbuena’s agent Bernes confirmed that two Turkish sides had begun talks during the World Cup, but that the projects they’re offering are not immediately attractive.
Finally, reports that came out of Russia late last night, specifically from media outlet ITAR-TASS that Dynamo Moscow have also entered into preliminary talks about possibly signing the player.
With regards to the proposed West Ham United interest, Get French Football News understands that while an enquiry was made, it was flatly rejected.
