Lyon captain Maxime Gonalons has announced his decision to remain with Les Gones despite interest from Napoli.
The player said the following to local paper Le Progres:
“I listened to a lot of different opinions to advise me properly. Napoli was maybe not the right club for me. Everything wasn’t in order, even before we hadn’t even talked about a contract or a salary. I spoke with Rafa Benitez who explained his want for me to come. It was very flattering for me, because Napoli is a big club. It has been a year that they’ve insisted on having me.”
