Moussa Sissoko in Canal + interview

Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko watched Arsenal vs Newcastle at his home in the North of England alongside some Canal + reporters and had some revealing things to say about the team…

On Newcastle’s tough start to the season…

“When people were looking at us almost as if we were going to be relegated this season it was with difficulty that the group solved the problem and got out of it. We are the ones who got ourselves through this.”

On Obertan’s winner over Leicester…

“From that moment on things started to work out for us and after that we went on a very positive series of games. The wheel has turned and we are happy for it but we need to be careful because it could quickly go the other way again.”

On Mathieu Debuchy playing at centre-back for Arsenal…

“I hope for him that he plays a good game because he is a really nice guy, I have spent some good moments with him here (Newcastle) and with the national team. Maybe (if he could make one slip up) just a one, it might help us win.”

On Olivier Giroud’s first goal…

“Oops there you go. We know Olivier is good at heading, it is one of his strong points. We have still got a lot of time. Argh, I really want to put my boots on and quickly run down to London now and onto the pitch. The last 10 minutes have been better but I think we can do much better. At half time I’m sure the coach will sort things out. I hope we will have a better second half.”

On Santi Cazorla’s first goal…

“Oh la la. There, 2-0, it is going to be much tougher.”

On Ayoze Perez’s goal…

“3-1… Still 2 goals to score…”

On Cazorla’s penalty…

“It was a penalty, he makes the guy fall over.”
