Newcastle continue to negotiate with Marseille for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa loan deal

According to our very reliable colleagues at Hat Trick FR, Newcastle United have agreed in principle to loan Mapou Yanga Mbiwa to Marseille for the coming season after the player made it clear that he wanted to go to OM if it was possible.

There is a little stumbling block at the moment. Marseille and Newcastle United have yet to reach an agreement as to how much of the player’s wages OM will pay.

Newcastle United want Marseille to cover 80% of Yanga-Mbiwa’s current wages, which would cost Marseille around €250k a month.

Marseille President Vincent Labrune does not want to do this at present. Talks continue and Newcastle are lining up a replacement for Yanga-Mbiwa as we speak.

On the subject of Loic Remy, Get French Football News cannot confirm that Newcastle United have made a fresh approach for the player.
