Perez hints on Zinedine Zidane Manager job

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez was at today’s Ballon D’Or ceremony, watching on as his club’s star player Cristiano Ronaldo won the prestigious award, but he also had time to do an interview, in which he discussed the possibility of Zinedine Zidane becoming the manager of the club in the future.

Zidane was earlier quoted as saying that becoming the manager of the club ‘was the goal,’ and that he ‘makes his merry way, learning, looking to contact important people in football.’ He said that he did not worry about his doubters, and his eventual goal of the number 1 seat at the club was clear.

When Perez was quizzed about the possibility of the Frenchman becoming manager, few expected a useful response of any kind.

However, Florentino Perez said that ‘We (Real Madrid) would be proud if he could one day become the number 1.’ He went on to say that ‘Zinedine works very intelligently with the staff, he understood everything.’ Clearly, the President rates the skills of the former Real Madrid superstar and, if Perez is to be believed, we could be seeing the Frenchman in the hot seat in the future.
