PSG already planning their summer transfer window

Our colleagues at RMC have today highlighted a number of targets that Ligue 1’s top side Paris Saint Germain will pursue this summer, and in some case are already actively pursuing.

Thiago Silva fighting to keep Alex:

31 year old ex-Chelsea centre back Alex’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and his situation is yet to be resolved. The PSG board are understood not to be overly keen on extending the Brazilian defender’s contract, especially because he occupies the last  squad spot reserved for players without an EU passport. Alex already has an offer on the table from AC Milan, Get French Football News has learnt. The reason why Alex has not accepted the Serie A side’s offer is that PSG captain Thiago Silva is very close to the player and is doing everything in his powers to convince the board to extend his compatriot’s deal. Contract extension negotiations are ongoing between PSG and Alex, but it is unclear how much progress will be made in the next weeks.

Zoumana Camara out?

RMC believe that the 34 year old centre back will not be offered a new player contract deal at the end of the season, making him a free agent. There have been murmurings that Camara may be offered some sort of coaching role, although there have been no concrete discussions to that effect, Get French Football News has learnt.

David Luiz a target at centre back?

RMC claim that PSG may turn to Chelsea defender/defensive midfielder David Luiz this summer, who would not require a non-EU passport squad spot because he currently holds a Portuguese one. RMC believe that contact was made last summer between the capital club and David Luiz’s representatives and that ‘good relations remain’ between the two parties.

PSG President Al Khelaifi has spoken to Benatia:

Another summer option for a centre back should PSG see it necessary is that of Moroccan and AS Roma defender Mehdi Benatia. RMC believe that Benatia spoke with the PSG President when he watched the latest Le Classique at the Parc des Princes and that PSG regularly send scouts to watch him play in Italy.

PSG-Dani Alves talks; Jallet out?

The same radio station has indicated that Les Parisiens are currently in informal talks with the representatives of Barcelona full back Dani Alves, as they look to push Jallet towards the door this summer. The Frenchman has incidentally spoken of his desire to be offered a new deal by PSG today. A source close to Alves reportedly told RMC that Dani Alves is ‘very interested by the (PSG) project.’

The central midfield question:

Get French Football News has learnt that Juventus central midfielder Paul Pogba remains PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi’s principle target for the summer transfer window and we revealed that PSG Sporting Director Jean Claude Blanc and the player’s agent Mino Raiola had been in talks several weeks ago now.

RMC reiterate these claims and go further by suggesting that Al Khelaifi recently met with his Juventus counterpart Andrea Agnelli to discuss the French international’s future. The Monaco-based radio station also cites Pogba’s teammate Arturo Vidal as well as Miralem Pjanic as players that PSG have been following closely in the previous months.

A Left Winger?

RMC however believe that PSG’s principle summer target will not be Pogba but instead securing the services of a left winger/left sided attacking midfielder. They reiterate their belief that PSG remain in contact with Eden Hazard’s representatives but concede that Chelsea will not allow such a deal to occur. The other name they cite is that of Real Sociedad’s Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman, who has recently earned his first international cap for France, was claimed to have agreed a deal to sign for PSG earlier this week by Spanish media outlet Punto Pelota. However, Get French Football News is in a position to dispel such claims. RMC do however believe that PSG  have recently entered into talks with the player’s representatives. Griezmann reportedly has a release clause of €30m, although we have no confirmation of such a figure.
