RC Lens President Gervais Martel has announced on L’Equipe du Soir this evening that his club have solved their financial worries and will be able to sign players this January, thanking owner Hafiz Mammadov in the process.
He had the following to say:
“Hafiz Mammadov has been a real Father Christmas. We will have the €14m in January. Lens has been resuscitated and we must find a way to stay in Ligue 1 now. If Lens stay in Ligue 1 we will be one of the most powerful clubs in the league financially next year.”
