RC Lens have received the necessary remaining funds from a different Mammadov, that of Anar, a man believed to have a position in the Azerbaijani government, who has managed to give Lens the necessary €4m which has now allowed them to begin again to extend contracts and sign new players.
As a result, Lens President Gervais Martel has made a number of announcements in a press conference today.
Wylan Cyprien, Baptiste Guillaume, Jean Philippe Gbamin, Dimitri Cavaré and Benjamin Bourigeaud have all extended their contracts.
Professional contacts have been offered to Taylor Moore and Valentin Belon.
The contracts of S.Atrous and B.Boulenger have also been confirmed.
Landry N’Guemo will not be joining the club after the former Cameroonian international failed to agree personal terms with Lens.
Gervais Martel admitted that at the turn of the calendar year there might be a new owner of the football club, but he warned fans that there will be “no revolution” in terms of January transfer activity.
He did confirm that there club is currently working to bring in players in three different positions but refused to give any names.
