Remy Cabella talks on future

With Montpellier expecting a bid from Newcastle for Remy Cabella, the 23 year old midfielder spoke to media about his future. He had the following to say:

‘For the moment, I am 100% focused on my team. I am focused on staying up.I want to play these last months out but if there is an offer, the two clubs must agree.’

‘If an offer is agreed than I will decide. Everyone says if its from England I must go. There are some good clubs in England. Over there, I would be the happiest.’

“Newcastle? Well, we realise that at some point we must leave. I think I’m capable of it. England interests me, there are good clubs out there. If Montpellier reaches an agreement with an English club that suits me, I’ll be happy.”

“If I was to leave in January I would not want to not play for 7 months. I want play like at Montpellier. This is my last year and I want to finish beautifully. I like England, but also Italy and Spain. I think it is my last season here and I do not want leave and then see Montpellier relegated to Ligue 2.”

“I think that this will be my last season at Montpellier. The President and I have an agreement to see out the rest of the season together.”

Cabella has now been banned by his manager from talking to the media about his transfer situation. Sky Sports have taken these comments to mean that the player would be happy with a move to England if Montpellier agree to sell him this month.

More to follow over the coming days.
