After negotiations over the course of the last few days, Swansea City have officially confirmed the signing of Bafetimbi Gomis on a free transfer after he was released from Lyon. The Frenchman joins the Welsh side on a 4 year contract, which will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2018.
Negotiations about Gomis’ contract length did take longer than expected to be resolved, but Swansea and the striker finally made an agreement earlier tonight, after which they immediately made the deal official.
A tall and powerful striker, Gomis has been highly sought after by many English clubs over the course of the past few transfer windows, including Newcastle as well as Swansea, and his physical game will suit the Barclays Premier League well.
