U17 star Severin signs for Juventus

Earlier today, Get French Football News reported that Evian’s young U17 star Yoan Severin had signed for Italian giants Juventus. It is unusual that such big clubs come for foreign young player so early in their careers, so it is a testament to the quality of Yoan Severin that perhaps Italy’s biggest club have come knocking on his door at such an early age. Clearly, both financially and in footballing terms, the offer was too good to refuse.

The young Severin was born on 24th January of 1997, meaning he just turned 17 years old 6 days ago. He was the captain of the Evian U17 squad, and is a left-footed central defender. He grew up in Lyon, and moved to Evian in 2012, where he was soon given the captain’s armband at U17 level. Juventus clearly saw huge potential in the young man, so decided to sign him up immediately, even at the tender age of 17.

It is almost certain that Juventus will loan Severin out immediately, or indeed play him in one of their youth squads. In any case, it is unlikely that he will be playing first team football for the club in the near future. What is clear is that Severin is an immensely talented youngster, and Juventus may just have a future star on their hands.
