Controversy ensued following the final whistle at the Allianz Riviera this evening as Bastia narrowly beat OGC Nice 1-0.
It has emerged that Jean Louis Leca, the SC Bastia reserve goalkeeper, pulled out a Corsican flag upon the final whistle and waved it tauntingly at a groups of OGC Nice ultras known as the Brigade Sud, a group that OGC Nice striker Alexy Bosetti has close ties with.
This flag was waved and this was then seen as an act of provocation by members from this section of the crowd who proceeded to storm the pitch in an attempt to confront Leca.
Whilst this was going on, Nice captain Didier Digard attempted to take the offending Corsican flag off Leca, presumably to stop any violence from occurring. This was largely to no avail and at least 4 fans have been arrested according to local sources.
What is clear is that OGC Nice will face a stadium ban, with the LFP taking a zero tolerance approach to this sort of barbary.
