37 year old Frenchman and former Arsenal and Chelsea central defender William Gallas has announced his retirement on L’Equipe 21 yesterday.
He had the following to say:
“It is not an easy thing to announce. You always tell yourself that you can keep going, but, I think today I cannot go on any longer.”
The former French international played for Caen, Marseille, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and finally Perth Glory.
