A step closer to René Girard’s Lille departure

According to today’s L’Équipe, Lille are one step closer to the departure of René Girard after the manager met with President Michel Seydoux yesterday to finalise a mutual termination agreement.

Girard is expected to receive close to €800k in pay-off, with his current deal expiring in June 2016.

Hervé Renard remains the frontrunner for the job, and is locked in wage discussions with Lille at present. LOSC’s main problem is the Ivory Coast, who are demanding a pay-off. Other individuals that have been mentioned in recent weeks are Zulte Waregem’s manager Francky Dury and Guingamp’s Jocelyn Gourvennec.
