According to our reliably informed colleagues at Hat Trick FR, West Ham United have an agreement in principle with SM Caen midfielder Ngolo Kanté’s representatives about a possible move.
The player’s agents are Mondial Promotion, who are working closely with Excelfoot’s Mark McKay, the son of the infamous Willie McKay. The player was proposed to West Ham by Mark McKay, who are said to have responded favourably to this offering. McKay has made the Hammers aware that they will need to offer a good €10m in order to sign the player, something that the club has apparently got an “agreement in principle”, at least orally, with Kanté’s representatives to do just that.
Slaven Bilic is apparently unaware of these developments, the West Ham manager generally not playing an active role in transfer policy this summer, according to our colleagues at Hat Trick. It is worth noting that a fee agreement is not reached by Caen and West Ham, and that the agreement in principle is more a promise on West Ham’s part to offer what’s necessary to sign the player.
