André Ayew has decided to join AS Roma, subject to their Champions League qualification

According to our colleagues at L’Équipe, Marseille attacking midfielder André Ayew will join AS Roma this summer should they qualify automatically for the Champions League.

Ayew is believed to have pre-contract offers from Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Schalke, Everton, Newcastle and most recently Swansea and Inter Milan, but the Ghanaian has his heart set on a move to Rome.

He has reached an agreement with Serie A club which will see him paid €3m a year net in salary and a €3m signing on fee. However, there is a condition in the agreement which allows Ayew to reconsider should AS Roma fail to qualify automatically for the Champions League next season. Initially, André Ayew was more drawn to a move to the Premier League but his father, Abedi Pele, who once played for Torino, has persuaded him regarding a move to Italy.
