According to our colleagues at France Football, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are “serious contenders” for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The magazine claims that it is more and more likely that Lacazette will quit the club this summer, with the player himself admitting that he has yet to make a decision on his future.
According to a source contacted by the magazine at Lyon, “the ball is in Aulas’ camp. If he receives an offer for more than €40m with bonuses, he will certainly ask the question.” If this offer comes in quickly, then any interested party has a better chance of signing the player this summer. This is because if an offer is accepted before the end of June, it will boost Lyon’s account for the 2014-15 season and bring them into the green in terms of finances, which is important because it is a strong sign for investors and eventual advertisers in Lyon’s new stadium, for which negotiations are ongoing.
There is nothing concrete yet, but one expects that the Lacazette situation will heat up after the international friendlies.
