Get French Football News can exclusively reveal that AS Monaco have joined the race with OGC Nice for attacking midfielder Carlos Eduardo.
Carlos Eduardo is currently on loan with Nice from Porto, with Les Aiglons actively negotiating with the Portuguese team over a possible permanent deal.
Portuguese media outlets have claimed that Porto’s price is at the €10m mark, but Carlos Eduardo has told Nice representatives that he actively wants to remain with the Côte D’Azur outfit. In reality, Nice are hoping to do a deal for no more than €6m, but are pessimistic about the current state of negotiations.
In steps AS Monaco. The club has made a formal enquiry for Carlos Eduardo to Porto in recent days, with Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho’s future at the club very much in question. Jorge Mendes is expected in the Principality next week to talk with Vadim Vasilyev about Monaco’s forthcoming transfer window, which will be radically shaped on whether or not they secure Champions League football this weekend.
