AS Monaco to complete El Shaarawy signing today

Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are set to complete the signing of AC Milan’s winger Stephen El Shaarawy. The transfer represents a strong statement of intent from Monaco, who finished 3rd in Ligue 1 last season, and reached the quarter finals of the Champions League.

The deal which takes the winger to Monaco is set to be a €2 million one year loan deal, with a buy-out clause of between €14-15 million. This clause becomes obligatory if the Italian plays more than 15 games for Monaco next season.

This signing shows that AS Monaco are prepared to spend some of the money they have generated from the selling of important players, most notably the departure of Kondogbia to AC Milan’s rivals Inter earlier in the transfer window. The player is currently undergoing a medical with ASM, and could be announced as a Monaco player by the middle of the week.
