Swansea’s French striker Bafétimbi Gomis collapsed during the Welsh sides’ Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur this evening, but Swansea insist that Gomis is “fine”.
The player has a history of fainting during football matches, the last reported case came during a training session when Gomis was still part of the French national team.
It is believed to have been his fourth vasovagal episode during his professional career.
The last time it occurred, Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas had the following to say to iTele:
“We cannot not be worried, it scares you each time.”
Gomis is now in a stable condition, and was conscious and breathing again shortly after fainting at White Hart Lane. The player was stretchered off, administered with oxygen and taken to hospital as a precaution.
