Botafogo could take Marseille to FIFA for late transfer payments

Botafogo are still awaiting their first payment of around €1m from Marseille which is now overdue concerning the transfer of Doria.

The initial lump sum was expected by 1st July but Domingos Fleury, the Brazilian outfit’s legal advisor, told Globoesporte that Botafogo plan to send a notice to the French outfit to cough up the required amount in the next 48 hours under the threat that the Brazilian side will call on FIFA to intervene and make OM pay the whole €6m at once.

OM are set to pay the €6m in instalments with the first payment of €1m now overdue, another €2m due in July 2016, another €2m due in December 2016 and the final €1m due in July 2017.
