According to Sky Italia, Chelsea are closing in on an agreement with Monaco for the straight loan of Radamel Falcao.
Get French Football News has learnt in the meantime that Monaco had initially been looking to sell the player outright, but none of Europe’s elite were willing to play ball. Talks with Chelsea about inserting a buyout clause into a loan deal then took place, but the Premier League champions had apparently floated around a €12m figure, which Monaco did not want to entertain. A deal is close at the time of writing. Liverpool also entered into talks at the beginning of the week, but are not willing to make an offer to buy the player outright and Falcao’s heart is much more in favour of a move to the London club.
Monaco are also in talks with Chelsea about the possible loan of Mario Pašalić, with a €15m buy-out clause being touted, according to Sky Italia.
