Edinson Cavani currently cuts a frustrated figure in Paris. Playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic is clearly something which doesn’t please him, and a recent two game ban for reporting back to training late hasn’t helped matters.
Cavani has often played on the wing, with Ibrahimovic preferred in the middle, and recent media reports have suggested some kind of rift between the two players. The Uruguayan has denied such rumours to L’Equipe, however, by saying that he has nothing but respect for his Swedish team-mate.
“I do not have any problems with Ibrahimovic. This is all one big media story. It is the French press that is trying to create a problem. There is mutual respect between Ibrahimovic and I. How could I not have respect for him? He has made history. I can learn a lot from Ibrahimovic.”
