Evian to bring in a defender by the end of the week

Evian president Joel Lopes has said that the Ligue 1 side will bring in a defender to the club by the end of the week. The announcement follows Evian’s 2-0 loss to Monaco in the Coupe de France.

Evian currently sit in the relegation zone of Ligue 1, and have the worst defensive record in the league, so additions in that department will be welcome. Lopes refused to name the player coming in, but Cameroonian centre back Dany Nounkeu is thought to be the most likely candidate.
