AS Monaco central defender Aymen Abdennour’s agent Stéphane Canard has spoken exclusively to Get French Football News about his client’s situation, with the Tunisian largely expected to leave Monaco before the summer transfer window shuts.
Will Aymen Abdennour be leaving Monaco?
A departure is a possibility for Abdennour. I cannot tell you who the interested clubs are at the moment, for obvious reasons. All the interested clubs are currently in discussions with Monaco. So far, there is not a single club who has reached an agreement with Monaco. Things are advancing and I think we’ll know more tomorrow.
Does Abdennour have a specific preference?
No. His decision will be made based on the managers (of the interested clubs), the discussions they will have with him.
What can we expect to happen tomorrow?
We take each day as it comes, every day there is some sort of breakthrough. For now, we’re at the beginning of discussions concerning the terms for the player (provisional contract talks). The clubs are discussing among themselves. I think tomorrow things will be more advanced and anyway there is a deadline: Monday the 31st for much of Europe and the 1st for England.
