France hosting the 1998 World Cup is not called into question by Chuck Blazer’s testimony

France winning the right to host the 1998 FIFA World Cup has not been called into question by Chuck Blazer’s testimony, released by the US Department of Justice this evening.

As the extract from the DOJ’s release shows, Chuck Blazer has admitted to being present during the making of an agreement between “Co-conspirator #1” and the Moroccan World Cup bid team, where a fee agreement was arranged in exchange for the vote from the anonymous co-conspirator.

Therefore, this testimony does not call into question at any single point the votes that the France World Cup bid received during the voting process for the hosting of the 1998 World Cup.
