Gregory van der Wiel sanctioned by PSG for bad behaviour

Dutch right-back Gregory van der Wiel was not included in PSG’s squad to face Montpellier this evening (in a game that PSG ran out 1-0 winners) because he was being sanctioned by the club for poor attitude during Les Parisiens’ previous Ligue 1 clash with Gazelec Ajaccio last weekend.

Officially, PSG announced that van der Wiel, who is close to a contract extension, was missing the clash vs Montpellier with an injury.

However, van der Wiel took to Twitter this afternoon to deny that he was injured, in what can only be seen as a rebellious act.

RMC have this evening revealed that PSG decided internally to suspend van der Wiel from tonight’s game after refusing to warm up with the rest of the substitutes during Les Parisiens’ 2-0 win over Ligue 1 newboys GFCA last Sunday.
