Hatem Ben Arfa was a guest on yesterday’s Canal Football Club where he spoke at large about his contract situation with OGC Nice after the deal was blocked by a FIFA ruling stating that he could only represent two clubs during a season. While he didn’t make a senior appearance for Newcastle, he played for the U21 side, which seems to have counted by FIFA and indeed the FFFs reckoning.
“Everyone wants to see me back in Ligue 1. Do you find it normal that this situation is trying to stop me from doing my job? I am pessimistic, when I see how they treated Luzenac, the LFP has to take responsibility and do things the right way, because not is unacceptable. I want to do something with Nice. It is ideal for me.”
A final decision will be made tomorrow by the LFP.
