According to L’Équipe, soon-to-be new Lille boss Hervé Renard’s first aim as manager is to ensure the retention of club captain Rio Mavuba’s services, the French international’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Lille have offered Mavuba a three year contract extension, with the Frenchman also having offers from Turkish outfits.
Renard is believed to have also identified some other targets including Rainford Kalaba (28 year old midfielder from TP Mazembe) and Jordan Ayew, Lorient’s striker.
Lille are also in talks with Mikkel Beck, Rony Lopes’ agent about extending the player’s loan for the forthcoming season. Jonathan Kodjia, newly crowned UNFP Ligue 2 Player of the Year, also features on the shortlist of Renard.
Éric Bauthéac (Nice) and Hervé Bazile (Caen) are two other names that have been flagged by Lille scouts as well.
